Our offroad camper trailer is suitable for travel on any road or recognized track
with in Australia where a 4x4 vehicle is normally required.
Exceptions
Any track that has been "closed" by local authorities.
No camper trailer can be driven on a beach, below the high tide mark or subject to salt water at any time.
Tow bar requirements:
The tow vehicle must be fitted with a tow bar and be rated to tow 1500 kg braked and 100kg tow ball weight.
Our camper trailers use a tregg offroad coupling which is supplied with the trailer.
Refer vehicles owners’ manual for maximum legal braked towing capacity and tow ball weight for your vehicle.
Braking requirements:
Our camper trailers are fitted with a mechanical over ride coupling.
No vehicle modifications required.
Power Requirements:
Our camper trailers are fitted with a 7 pin round trailer connection for lighting.
Adaptors can be supplied if your vehicle is fitted with a 6 pin or 7 pin flat plugs.
Trailer Battery:
The towing vehicle needs to be wired to allow charging of the battery from the towing vehicle while traveling.
The trailer is fitted with a 50 amp Anderson plug.
The Adventure Camper is flexible in the setup and each section can be used independently. Allowing setup options from short stops to long stays. The setup time is from 15 secs for kitchen access to 15 mins for the full set up. Full training is provided during your pre-hire briefing.
The Adventure Camper has a fridge box fitted and can be hired with or without the fridge. The fridge box is sized to suit a 60ltr Engel fridge. The Engel 60ltr fridge external dimensions are: H 441 W 790 D 490 millimeters
Trailer Battery
The Adventure Camper has a 100 ah AGM battery fitted with a Redarc Smart Start BCDC charge system.
The battery can be charged via the 50 amp Andersen plug from the vehicle during travel.
The trailer is wired to charge the battery from a 240v powered camp site or a generator for extended camping.
We hire the Yamaha EF 1000IS Generator for battery charging and recommend an inverter technology generator.
Note cheaper generators can damage equipment by power surges.
Trailer lighting
The Adventure Camper is fitted with LED lighting to the Kitchen, Storage area and the Fridge box.
A 12 volt power outlet is provided at the rear of the camper for internal lighting in the tent.
The Adventure Camper has an 86 litre water tank plumbed to the electric and hand pump in the kitchen. 2 additional water jerry’s may be carried in the lockable tool box left of the fridge box, or the trailer roof rack.
The Adventure Camper has a 9kg gas bottle plumbed to the stove. The gas bottle is fitted with a float gauge. Ensure the gas bottle valve is turned off during travel.
The trailer has 1100 litres of waist level storage which is accessible at all times no mater how the camper is setup.
The camper trailer is of all metal construction with seals to the doors and user friendly locks. The trailers have excellent dust and water proofing.
The canvas can be folded up wet, there is a cover provided to cover the bedding so it will be dry at your next stop. The tent needs to be opened and dried as soon as practical.
Offroad travel in Australia involves remote locations and long distances. Trip preparation is essential if you intend to travel offroad. You should consider that you will need recovery gear, spares and tools and carry sufficient water, food, first aid, communications equipment and research the emergency contacts and services available for the trip.
The first priority in any situation is the health and safety of you and your travel companions.
Emergency service agencies are you first point of contact where there is risk of injury or human life involved.

The tent is 2m long 0.045m wide 0.015m high and weighs 22 kg. The tent needs to be carried on a roof rack or roof bars.
The tent includes the Peaked Side Panels, Deluxe Front Panel, Fly and Ground Sheet. This includes all ropes and pegs to erect the tent.
The RV5 is 2.6m wide x 2.6m deep and 1.9m to the peak with a 2m awning. The main tent will accommodate 3 king single size sleeping mats or two double sleeping mats and the awning will accommodate 2 king single size sleeping mats. The tent will fit 2 adults and 2 children in the main tent. If more people need to be accommodated then consider the RV5’s x 2 option.
Overnight
The tent can be used for over night stops by putting up the main tent and rolling the awning up. No fly is required unless rain is forecast. The main tent has 8 pegs for the base and 4 ropes and pegs to secure the tent from wind. Always use the ropes as wind condition change during the night.
Awning Optional
The awning can be erected with 4 poles, two cross poles and two ropes and pegs.
Fly Optional
If fitting the fly sip the fly to the tent before erecting the awning.
The fly requires 3 extra pegs and two poles.
Note the awning sides use the tent rope pegs.
Two Nights or Bad Weather
Erect the tent, fly and Awning as above.
Add the side walls by sipping the side as marked wall ‘A’ to side ‘A’.
Add the front wall by zipping to the side walls and roof.
Fit the Velcro taps to the poles and peg the walls at the base.
This option is for two families or a family with teenagers. We supply two RV5 tents with all RV5 accessories and include the Awning Connector to allow for sipping two tents together and have a large undercover area in between.
